We are staying in a 2 bedroom villa at the Grand Floridian. We wanted to be prepared for what to bring. What items are included with the kitchen and is there detergent for the washer and dryer?

Hi Abigail and welcome to planDisney! The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is one of my family’s Disney Vacation Club home resorts and we always have a great time staying there. There’s nothing better than sitting on the balcony in the morning sipping a cup of coffee and watching the Monorail pass by! Let’s talk about all the great amenities the 2-bedroom villas have to offer.

Abigail, you’ll be happy to know that the kitchen comes stocked with pots, pans, and basic cooking utensils such as tongs and spatulas. You’ll also find sheet pans and casserole dishes for the oven, a colander and some mixing bowls to assist with meal prep, and enough plates, bowls, cups, glasses, and silverware for each guest in the villa. You’ll also find appliances such as a microwave, toaster, and a Keurig coffee maker (along with both individual Keurig coffee pods and filtered coffee packs for pots of coffee). As for cleaning supplies, your villa will come stocked with dish soap, a sponge, some washcloths, and paper towels. What you won’t find are any cooking ingredients staples such as cooking oil, condiments, etc., so it’s best to bring these items, purchase these items from the Resort shops, or have groceries delivered to the Resort.

Here’s a bonus tip! The interior of one of the kitchen cabinets will have an amenity list with additional items you can request from Housekeeping. We often request a blender so that we can make smoothies, one of our family’s must-have refreshments when cooling off after a hot day in the theme parks!

As for the washer and dryer, Cast Members may sometimes leave a new bottle of laundry detergent upon check-in. But if you don’t see one, feel free to call Housekeeping and they’ll be happy to supply you with some. One of the reasons we love staying in 1- and 2-bedroom villas is the in-unit washer and dryer. We tend to wash our clothes before we head back home so we can spend more time planning our next vacation as soon as we get back!

I hope this information is helpful for you, Abigail, as you plan out your upcoming trip to the Grand Floridian. While you’re at Walt Disney World, make sure to visit the International Flower & Garden Festival at EPCOT, it’s one of my personal favorites! There’s nothing better than enjoying all the delicious foods while admiring the beautiful topiaries and gardens. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me and my fellow panelists here at planDisney!

    Your pal,
