Bay Lake Tower at Contemporary Bay Cove Pool

    We're staying at a 1 bedroom villa at Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary. What kind of thing are stocked in the kitchen. Should we bring anything for basic cooking, eating, and cleaning up?

    Hi Nicole, 

    Welcome to planDisney! I’m so happy to hear you’re heading to Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort so soon. Bay Lake Tower is one of my family’s Home resorts and it really does feel like a Home-away-from-Home! You can’t get any closer to Magic Kingdom than Bay Lake Tower; the short walk to the theme park (and quick walk Home after a long park day) along with the ease of passing through a smaller security checkpoint are definitely big positives. 

    One of the many things I love about a Disney Vacation Club Membership is being able to choose accommodations that fit the size of my travel party. I have a large family and being able to choose a Villa where everyone has space is important. We also love having a full kitchen and laundry in our Villa; these things do help make it feel like we are at home. My family prefers having breakfast in our room so we’re ready to head to the parks and get started on our day. Nicole, since you’re staying in a 1-bdr Villa, you’ll have a full kitchen which comes stocked with the following items: 

    • Dishes
    • glasses
    • utensils
    • pots and pans
    • microwave
    • toaster
    • stove
    • oven
    • fridge
    • coffee maker
    • dishwasher
    • can & bottle opener
    • corkscrew
    • coffee mugs
    • baking sheet
    • casserole dish
    • mixing bowls
    • storage containers

    Some kitchen items are available upon request: 

    • blender
    • tea kettle
    • electric mixer

    My family has found that nearly everything we needed was available in the Villa (minus scissors). We tend to bring small ziploc bags for snacks and for re-packing any food. Suppose you discover you are running out of items such as laundry detergent or dish soap. In that case, you can request a replacement either through Housekeeping or by making a request on "Hey Disney", the in-room voice assistant in Disney Resort hotels.
