Hi! We will be staying at the Beach Club Villas for Christmas. Does the resort have any special celebration for guests on Christmas day? Or will it be best if we plan a day in a park? Thank you!

    Hi Jania,

    Welcome to planDisney!

How exciting to hEAR that you are planning a trip for the Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort! Even though this year might look a little different, special holiday magic will definitely spread a little happiness. Your plans to enjoy Disney's Beach Club Villas sound perfect!

Walt Disney World resort hotels are always beautifully decorated for the winter holidays. We visited last year from December 21-28 and stayed at Disney's BoardWalk Villas. While there, we strolled through Disney's Yacht and Beach Club resorts and enjoyed a few dining experiences. There was special holiday merchandise for sale that kept us occupied for a while. I distinctly remember feeling as if the resort gingerbread mugs and holiday ornaments were speaking directly to me!

Although more resort-specific details could be announced later, be sure to follow Everything Holidays in the Disney Parks Blog. Consider your dining plans for the day. We enjoyed meals at Trattorio al Forno, Ale & Compass Restaurant, and Beaches & Cream Soda Shop. Remember also that, depending on availability, you could enjoy a leisurely bike ride with Surrey Bike Rentals. Keep your eye out for signs posted around the resorts and on Disney's BoardWalk with daily activities. We lounged by the pool and just enjoyed our time at the resort.

Of course, if you want to see more characters, enjoy some attractions, and widen your dining possibilities, I suggest heading to a theme park. Just be sure that you have a Disney Park Pass system reservation. What you choose to do will depend entirely on how your family wants to spend the day - relaxed or full speed ahead? Remember also that you could spend some time enjoying the Holidays at Disney Springs. We loved the shopping and activities there!

Jania, our time last Christmas was simply special. The memories that we have from that trip continue to make us smile and, occasionally laugh hysterically. My one random word of advice would be to make sure you have rain ponchos. It rained almost every day, but we were prepared with our rain gear!

    Magic and memories,
    Donyell
