    We will be staying at the Beach Club on the Club level. We enjoy the safari at AK and have been on it many times. We have the option of the Wildlife Discovery Excursion for an additional fee. Is the Wildlife Discovery worth the extra fee for us?

    Hi Kathleen!  Our family loves the animal experiences at the Animal Kingdom park as well and we can not visit that park without a ride on the Safari. 

    We have taken advantage of the special Wildlife Discovery Excursion in the past when staying on the Club Level of the resorts and would highly recommend it.  You will be with a small group and taken back stage to enter your special safari vehicle.  This will be a bit different then the normal ones you see.  You will be escorted by at least one Animal Kingdom wildlife specialist who will share information along the way as well as answer any questions that might come up.  The best part of the trip is that you will go on the same route as the regular safari but you will have the opportunity to pull over and stop in areas for as long as you wish.  This is especially nice when you see animals doing something special or interacting among themselves.  I always hated it when we would see animals doing something unusual on the safari and couldn't just stop to watch.  With this trip you can enjoy all animal encounters.

    Be sure and check the age limitations.  My grandson was a bit younger then they liked but they did allow him to come along.  During the trip they will have things for the children (and adults) to touch and feel such as horns and animal hair.  It is an educational and very interesting and enjoyable excursion!
