Cynthia from ME Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

We are staying at Bay Lake Towers this October. Our flight comes in at 2 pm, would we have enough time to get from the airport using the Magical Express, check in, and then get to downtown disney for dinner for 6:00 or 6:30?

    Hi there, Cynthia!

While timing is pretty hard to predict due to lots of external factors, there are a few basic assumptions that can be made about travel time.

The actual ride from Orlando International Airport to Disney property takes about half an hour. Each of the Disney's Magical Express buses may transport guests from the airport to three or four different hotels.

If your hotel is the first stop, then it will take about 35 minutes to get from the airport to the resort. If you’re the fourth stop, then it may take up to about 75 minutes once you leave the airport.

And this is all, of course, pending an on-time flight arrival and immediate bus access.

So let's say you get on Magical Express at 3:00 PM, and you're at your Resort - in the longest case scenario - at 3:0 PM. This still gives you 2.5-3.0 hours to arrive at Downtown Disney.

For that journey, I would budget an hour. That allows for wait time and, once you arrive, walking time to our restaurant.

So the big-picture answer is yes. Obviously, mitigating factors can impact this tentative schedule, but for the most part, a four-hour window is reasonable.

    Have a wonderful trip!

    See you later, celebrator,
