We are staying at Bay Lake Tower with a 5 year old son and 3.5 year old daughter. We arrive at hotel at 1 pm. Can you suggest some activities around BLT or the contemporary hotel for arrival day afternoon and evening? It will be winter time. Thanks!

    Hello, Anne!

You are going to absolutely fall in love with Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort! I know we did!

Depending on the weather, you can surely have the kids take a dip in the heated pool and hot tub, while also enjoying the daily poolside activities organized by enthusiastic Cast Members. Right next to the pool, introduce your little ones to shuffleboard. You can borrow the equipment for these at the nearby Community Hall. In addition, Community Hall also has arts and craft activities for little ones all day, as well as games, a chalkboard, video games and DVD rentals. Some vacations, we can't get our kids OUT of Community Hall!

If the weather is cooperative, there is also Movies Under the Stars, which is often set up between Bay Lake Tower and Disney's Contemporary Resort. You'll be able to spot the location as you walk from one building to other, either on the covered breezeway or on the ground level.

We never miss a chance to Dine at Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort, too, when staying at Bay Lake Tower. You can't beat the convenience of your villa being so close to a really great buffet with many of your favorite characters, especially Mickey himself!

Of course, there are arcades, shops and viewing the Electrical Water Pageant for nighttime entertainment as well. However, we always find that everyone is especially tired on arrival day, so an early night is probably what's in store for you.

Please send additional questions as you think of them; I'd love to help!
