Hi Sandra,
Welcome to planDisney. Let me get this straight. You're going to
Walt Disney World Resort in two months, staying at the ultra-chic
Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort,
and you were magically given the gift of time on your departure day? Sounds like your fairy godmother is working overtime! You have won the Disney lottery, my friend, and I'm happy to help you dream big as you cash out your winnings.
Bay Lake Tower is one of my family's favorite places to stay. The firework views, short walk to Magic Kingdom park, and delicious dining options make this Disney Resorts Collection hotel a dream come true. Guests are often so busy coming and going from the theme parks they don't get a chance to truly enjoy the full range of resort amenities offered. After checking out at 11:00 a.m., Sandra, you are welcome to stay and enjoy the resort. Check your bags with bell services, check in with the front desk to verify your access to the resort grounds that require a
MagicBand or card, then enjoy yourselves. Go for a swim in the pool or flex your brain muscles playing Disney trivia during the afternoon pool party. Other recreation offerings include bocce, shuffleboard, and a putting green. Snag that last-minute dining reservation to dine with Mickey and friends at
Chef Mickey's or enjoy the mouthwatering Gourmet Grilled Cheese at
Steakhouse 71 (a personal favorite). Have a family air hockey tournament at
The Game Station arcade or enjoy craft and movie time at
Community Hall. Your resort could easily keep you occupied until it's time to leave for the airport.
If you're interested in expanding your radius of activity, I highly recommend a tour around the
Resort Monorail loop. Enjoy a DOLE Whip at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Bring a deck of cards and have game time while enjoying
live music in the lobby of
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. If you're not too tired, enjoy the walk from the Grand Floridian to Magic Kingdom park and back to Bay Lake Tower. Just be sure not to leave any glass slippers behind.
You should be ready to head to the airport around 5:00 p.m. If your plans involve water activities, don't forget to pack a bag for the wet swimsuits. Also, be sure to grab a few Mickey-shaped treats from Fantasia Market for your journey home. However you choose to spend your gift of time, Sandra, allow yourself a quiet time and space to take in your last moments of vacation. The true magic of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation lies in the moments we allow ourselves to breathe, be fully present with our loved ones, and feel the childlike joy that often gets forgotten.
I'm so glad your Fairy Godmother led you to planDisney. We hope to hear from you again soon.
Have courage and be kind,
Jennifer
