We are staying at ASM for the week of Xmas 2008, reviews are mixed. My 5 yr old is autism spectrum and I thought he would enjoy it. He also has a wheelchair. Have we made the right choice or should we spend the extra and upgrade?

I would just caution that the week of Christmas will be very busy at Walt Disney World. Even in less busy seasons, the value resorts are quite crowded and loud. While the All Star resorts are visually appealing to many children, you may want to consider if your child might be overwhelmed at a resort with so much visual and auditory stimulation.

The Port Orleans French Quarter is a small, quaint resort which would be easier to navigate with the wheelchair. The Caribbean Beach Resort would offer sandy beaches and small courtyards in which to share some quieter moments. This resort is quite large though. Port Orleans Riverside although large is very serene.

Take a look at the photos of these resorts on allearsnet.com to help you decide. You know your child best!
