Hi! We'll be staying at ASM. Currently have basic DDP, upgrading to deluxe next month. Will be paid off then. If Disney offers free DDP for early December and we qualify, will we just get refund or what for the Quick service portion? Thanks, luv the site

    Hi Kimberly!

Thanks for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.  Also, thank you for the compliment on the panel; we all enjoy helping guests plan their magical Walt Disney World Resort vacations.

I have paid for a vacation in full many times and then later applied for a discount long before showing up at Walt Disney World.  What basically happens is you are re-booking using a discount code.  The money you have already paid goes towards that new reservation.  If you have paid more than you need then the rest will be refunded to you.  Over the years, I have seen two things:  (1) I get a refund right away or (2) a credit is waiting in my account when I arrive at Walt Disney World.  I may have been asked to chose between the two, but I can't remember.  The last time this has happened to me personally was a couple of years ago.  I do know that on the last day of your visit, if there is a credit still in your account, it will immediately be refunded to you.

Just remember that Disney will not automatically apply any discount codes toward your reservation.  If a discount comes out that is applicable, you will have to call Disney and ask that it be applied.  So keep your eyes and ears open, and good luck!

If you have any more question, please write back!
