Ohmigoodness, Amy, I was so excited to read your question! When I visited Walt Disney World Resort with my son (who was a preschooler) for his first visit, A Lightning McQueen autograph was exactly what he wanted!
Back when New York Street was still a part of
Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we visited Lighting McQueen and Mater for a Disney PhotoPass photo. Since my son was a huge CARS fan, I asked the Cast Member if we might “shake” McQueen’s tires to say hello. I turned to a blank page in our autograph book and scrubbed his road tires HARD on our page. When I took the book away, I was left with a fabulous black and brown tire skid mark that we still treasure in our autograph book. Since we were collecting lots of autographs that day, we also visited
Tinkerbell, but her tinker fingers flubbed and she dropped the book. As she flipped back, she saw McQueen’s tire mark and insisted in showing everyone in the room the first Lightning McQueen autograph that she had ever seen! That made my son beam with excitement as he regaled her with our experience.
You might be able to walk around Radiator Springs at
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and try your luck at pulling autographs from the cars, though I believe those cars aren’t fitted with actual rubber tires. The worst you will collect is a fabulous set of photos, and if you have a spare 51 cents, a
pressed penny of McQueen from Everything POP inside the lobby. If I can help you KA-CHOW any more vacation questions, please let me know. I’m ready for your PIT STOP! ~ Lindsey P.
