We are staying at Art of Animation in the standard Ariel rooms. Need to know if there is a microwave in these rooms. (This not a family suite)

Hi there, Angela! Welcome back to planDisney.

My family loved flippin’ our fins when we stayed in a Little Mermaid Standard Room at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. The landscaping in that section of the resort looks like actual underwater vegetation, and we loved feeling like we were part of Ariel’s world during our stay. I’m so excited to see that you’ll be staying there next week!

Angela, The Little Mermaid Standard Rooms do not include an in-room microwave. You will, however, be able to visit the Landscape of Flavors food court to use the microwaves there; Cast Members are ensuring that increased cleaning and sanitation the microwaves and toasters is taking place right now. Depending on where your room is located and your walking pace, you'll find the food court is about a 5-10 minute walk from your room, so if you're heating up food, you may want to plan to eat while you're there (limited outside seating is available if you prefer). You will find a mini-refrigerator in your room, which I like to stock with milk for cereal, yogurt, string cheese, and fruit and veggies so my Mouseketeers have some healthy snack options.

Have a fin-tastic time next week! Make sure you explore all the areas of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and bring your camera. You will feel like you have stepped right into The Lion King, Cars, The Little Mermaid, and Finding Nemo as you walk through your resort, and there are so many Disney details to take in (be sure to listen for some greetings from Nemo’s seagull friends).

As you count down the days, please familiarize yourself with the Know Before You Go web page, which includes important information for ensuring you have a safe visit. I also highly recommend reading the Disney Parks Blog for the latest news from around the Walt Disney World Resort – I’m always adding to my list of must-try snacks around the theme parks, resorts, and Disney Springs, and their updates and photography will get you so excited! Have the best time!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
