We are staying at the Art of Animation resort in April. Two of our dining reservations are concerning to me. 7:30 reservations at Chef Mickey & Crystal Palace at 8:30. Would it be better use of our time to drive our van or take the bus?

    Hi Paula:

When I have early morning breakfasts, I tend to take taxis so I can make most efficient use of my time and get a few minutes extra sleep.  In your case, if you prefer not to take a taxi, I would lean to taking the bus if you plan to head to Magic Kingdom after your breakfast.  If you take your van, you can Park at Contemporary for Chef Mickey's but you will be issued a three hour parking pass and would have to move your van if you plan to spend the day in the Parks.  If you take the bus, the bus will take you from your Resort to Magic Kingdom.  From there, it's about an 8 minute walk to the Contemporary Resort to get to your Chef Mickey's Reservation.

The general buses start running to the Parks about an hour prior to Park opening.  And special buses to the Parks start running even earlier for Guests who have early morning character breakfast reservations at restaurants inside the Parks and close by Resorts. These buses are unofficially referred to as "breakfast buses." These early-morning breakfast buses begin to run from Resorts as early as 6:30 or 6:45.  When you check in your Resort, I would confirm with the Cast Member that early morning buses to the Parks will be running.

When you get to the Park for your Crystal Palace reservation, simply head to the designated park entrance turnstile open for guests with early breakfast reservations. To help you find your way, look for a sign that says "Breakfast Entrance" or "Character Breakfast" (or something similar).  A Cast Member at the breakfast entrance will take your name to confirm that you have a reservation and will admit you to the park with your park ticket.
