We are staying at Art of Animation October 23-27. My plan on the morning of the 24th is to take a Sky liner from the resort to the International Gateway at Epcot and then dine at Trattoria al Forno. What are your thoughts on this? Is it feasible?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Lori!

Back when I was a young Mouseketeer, our local theme park had gondola “skyway” transportation, and I loved gliding above the world and looking down at all the attractions, landmarks, and people below. I can’t wait to experience that feeling at the Walt Disney World Resort when the Disney Skyliner opens on September 29, 2019!

Lori, I think you’ve got a great transportation plan for getting to Disney’s BoardWalk for your meal at Trattoria al Forno. Here’s the only catch: we don’t yet have the schedule for the Disney Skyliner. My advice is to watch the Disney Skyliner web page, and you can also check in with a Cast Member at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort when you arrive. As we get into early October, we’ll have a better sense of how long the trips will take, how often the gondolas will run, and what the gondola hours are, and then you’ll be able to calculate how long you’ll need. From the International Gateway Disney Skyliner Station, it’s not a very long walk over to Trattoria al Forno, and it’s really lovely.

Did you see the recent Disney Parks Blog story about the Disney Skyliner Cast Member costumes? I was fascinated to hear about the costume design process and the Disney details in the costuming. I’m so excited to see it all come together.

Enjoy your gondola ride and your meal at Trattoria al Forno, Lori! It sounds like you might be planning to enjoy the Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast, and I have to tell you that my family had such a fun time dining with Eric, Ariel, Flynn, and Rapunzel. I recommend thinking of some questions for them ahead of time – they are so funny and were super sweet to my kiddos, especially my Princess-obsessed son. Enjoy!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
