Hi Jayne!
Thanks for swimming by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question about the Little Mermaid rooms at
Disney's Art of Animation Resort. I so enjoy staying amidst the larger-than-life Ariel, Ursula and King Triton statues in this section of the resort. Guests truly feel that they are living "Under the Sea" during their stay.
The mini-refrigerators found in these rooms are approximately 18" wide by 25" high and 22" deep. They are a little larger than a traditional dorm refrigerator. I often have snacks and supplies delivered to my Walt Disney World Resort hotel, especially when I am traveling as a chaperone with a school group. While the mini-refrigerator holds quite a bit, I find that ordering a styrofoam cooler along with my supplies enables me to store all of the perishables I order. The styrofoam cooler, like one you might take for an afternoon at the beach, doesn't cost much and it holds full gallons of milk and plenty of water bottles and other goodies. I just fill the cooler with ice from the hotel's ice machine daily and my supplies are kept chilled.
As for that magical morning elixir called coffee, please note that the guest rooms in the Little Mermaid section of this resort do not, at present, have coffee makers. However, coffee is readily available for purchase at the
Landscape of Flavors food court in Animation Hall. If you purchase a refillable resort mug, you can fill your mug at your Walt Disney World Resort hotel with as much coffee as you like for the length of your stay.
Do let us know if any additional questions pop up as you plan for your departure. We'd be happy to help!
Sending best wishes and pixie dust,
Jill
