    Staying at the art of animation (Nemo section) in a few days. What special hotel features or events show my family NOT miss? Two year daughter, 7 year old son and two old parents are very excited about this newer hotel!

    Hi Tom!  I am so glad you are excited about your stay at Disney's Art of Animation Resort.  You are going to have a blast. 

    I would not miss taking a swim in the Big Blue Pool.  If you dunk your head underwater, you can hear Nemo and friends having some fun.  This is a one of a kind feature only to be found at Disney's Art of Animation Resort.  The Big Blue Pool is also the largest resort pool on Walt Disney World property.  The resort is truly themed with families in mind.  If you have the time, I would suggest walking around and checking out each different section of the resort.  You will be able to find several fun spots to take pictures throughout the Finding Nemo, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King and the Cars area. There are also playground area for the kiddos to enjoy and even night time movies down by the Big Blue Pool.  When you check in, ask if there is a times guide for activities going around the resort.  I know that sometimes there are pool parties in the afternoon.  You will just need to ask when you get there as things are always changing.  The food court, Lanscape of Flavors, is also one of a kind for Disney.  It's quick service but you eat on real plates and use real silverware, no disposable here.  The food court also features several fresh made to order options and menu items seem to be more health conscious.  If you have a sweet tooth, you will be happy to know you can find several goodies there too!  If you are a Hidden Mickey finder, like myself, you can find 2 in the food court!  Keep your eyes open.

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
