Greetings Alaine! I love answering questions from fellow Californians! :)
The online check in process is easy peasy, and saves a lot of time on your arrival day! You can check-in online 10 days or less, prior to your arrival date. I have done this so many times and I actually prefer this method over traditional check-in!
If you haven't already done so, you'll need to create an account at
www.disneyworld.com. Once you've done this, you can click on "
My Reservations" where you will be prompted to enter your
resort confirmation number.
Once you are within the 10-day window, the Online Check-In option will appear under your reservation information and here's how the process works:
When you arrive at your Disney World Resort hotel, you will advance to the line especially reserved for "Online Check-In Guests." You will be greeted by a friendly cast member who will have your welcome packet all ready! This packet will contain your Key to the World Cards, which serve as your room key, park tickets, Dining Plan, and room charge. The packet will also contain your room number and resort maps and other important information!
Typically, the online check-in line will be shorter than the regular line, so all you'll have to do is pickup you packet, which will be all ready to go, and then store your luggage with Bell Services so you can begin enjoying the resort and parks immediately! You can request to receive a phone call when your room is ready, or even a text, and since you'll already have everything you need, you can head straight to your room when the time comes!
Best Wishes,
Amanda F.
