I am staying at the Art of Animation hotel at Disney World. I am wondering if there is a character breakfast, dinner, or supper I could reserve that is close by the hotel and does not require me to be at a theme park.

    Hey Kendall-

Welcome to the Disney Parks Mom Panel. My family loves Disney Character Dining Experiences as all of our hearts beat a little faster with excitement when we get a hug and an autograph. What a magical moment!

There are several Character Dining Experiences where you do not have to enter a Theme Park. 1900 Park Fare, Cape May Cafe, Chef Mickey’s, Cinderella’s Dining at Citricos - Breakfast and Brunch with the Disney Princesses, Mickey’s Backyard BBQ and ‘Ohana would all work well for you and give your family the "warm fuzzies" and a full belly. Most Character Dining Experiences are buffet style with options even for the pickiest of eaters. A bus or car will be needed to get you to all these dining experiences from you hotel.

The closest Character Dining Experience to Disney’s Art of Animation is at Disney’s Beach Club Resort in the Epcot Resort Area.  The Cape May Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants because it is decorated in a New England-style, beachside setting with pastel colored walls and teal topped white arches. At the Beach Club Breakfast Buffet you will get a personal visit from Mickey, Minnie, Donald Duck, Goofy and Pluto dressed in their ocean themed outfits. Bring an empty tummy, a camera and an autograph book. If there is a video camera available, try and get a video with the characters. Their gestures and responses are so perfect. We love watching these magical moments with our kids.

Since your trip is a few months away I would book this experience online or call 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463) as soon as you have time.

Please give the “Fab Five” a hug from me.

    Enjoy making many Magical Memories!
