We're staying at Art of Animation in early January for a few nights before taking a Disney Cruise. We're trying to save $, so what we can do without going to the parks (tickets can get expensive for a family of 6)? Our kids are 8, 7, 5 & 2.

    Hi Maria!

One of the best things about a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is that you do not have to visit the theme parks to have a great time! Here are a few activities that your family might enjoy:
    • Take a bus to Magic Kingdom Park or Epcot and hop on the monorail and enjoy the ride as you take the round trip loop. This is a must-do for each of our vacations!
    • Visit Downtown Disney and enjoy the sights or take in a movie at AMC Movies at Downtown Disney 24.
    • Enjoy Fantasia Gardens or Winter Summerland Miniature Golf. The price is between $12 and $14, making it a fun and inexpensive activity.
    • Visit Disney's Boardwalk and enjoy some of the entertainment, dining and recreation that they offer. If you are there at the right time, you could possibly enjoy glimpses of Illuminations: Reflections of Earth.
    • Visit Pixel Play Arcade at Disney's Art of Animation Resort and enjoy some video games.
No matter what you decide to do, you will have a blast and will continue that enjoyment on your Disney Cruise. I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have additional questions, we would love to help!

    Have a magical time!
