We're staying at Art of Animation in early January for a few nights before taking a Disney Cruise. We're trying to save $, so what we can do without going to the parks (tickets can get expensive for a family of 6)? Our kids are 8, 7, 5 & 2.

Hi Maria! One of the best things about a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is that you do not have to visit the theme parks to have a great time! Here are a few activities that your family might enjoy: Take a bus to Magic Kingdom Park or Epcot and hop on the monorail and enjoy the ride as you take the round trip loop. This is a must-do for each of our vacations! Visit Downtown Disney and enjoy the sights or take in a movie at AMC Movies at Downtown Disney 24. Enjoy Fantasia Gardens or Winter Summerland Miniature Golf. The price is between $12 and $14, making it a fun and inexpensive activity. Visit Disney's Boardwalk and enjoy some of the entertainment, dining and recreation that they offer. If you are there at the right time, you could possibly enjoy glimpses of Illuminations: Reflections of Earth. Visit Pixel Play Arcade at Disney's Art of Animation Resort and enjoy some video games. No matter what you decide to do, you will have a blast and will continue that enjoyment on your Disney Cruise. I hope this helps.
