    We are going to be staying at Art of Animation in December. We have a character dinner planned at the Disney World Swan Hotel. What is the best way to get from one to the other? About how long does it take? Thank you!

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Traveling within Walt Disney World Resort can be tricky so let’s get you rolling in the right direction.

    When traveling from Disney’s Art of Animation Resort to Walt Disney World Swan Hotel via Disney’s complimentary transportation you have several routes. The first is to take a bus to the Downtown Disney Marketplace bus stop where you may transfer to your destination resort bus. Travel time by bus should be 30 minutes. The second is to take a bus to the nearest theme park, Disney’s Hollywood Studios where you can transfer to a ferryboat to the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel. This is a neat trip and should be about 30 minutes. The third is to take a bus to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and walk to your destination along a beautiful path that will take you through Disney’s BoardWalk Area. Walking takes about 30 minutes. To get back “home” just do the reverse. Buses typically run till 2:00 AM from the Downtown Disney Area. Please check with your resort concierge before you depart for exact bus hours. Walt Disney World Resort asks, however, Guests to budget 90 minutes when traveling within the Walt Disney World Resort property. The times I’ve quoted are typical travel times and the extra time in the Disney recommendation is because delays have occurred in the past.

    To make life easy, so you may enjoy your character meal, I would suggest using a taxi service. The trip will be about 10 minutes and will save you time and be more relaxing as you travel from Disney’s Art of Animation Resort to Walt Disney World Swan Hotel. Fares typically range from $10-$20.
