Hiya Mark! Welcome to planDisney! We’re so happy you stopped by to bring us your question.
Mark, what a fun way to kick off a Disney day!
Horseback riding at Fort Wilderness is such a cool experience. It kind of feels like stepping into a different world right in the middle of all the Disney magic. I have SO enjoyed visiting Tri-Circle-D Ranch on my way to
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue to see the majestic Clydesdales that enjoy living on Disney property. What lucky horses they are. And amazingly stunning too!
Okay, so about getting there bright and early. Disney’s buses usually start running about 45 minutes before the parks open, and since you’ll need to allow about 90 minutes for transportation, this might be a tricky one to pull off with
Disney transportation alone. To get there by bus, you’d need to catch a bus from Art of Animation to Magic Kingdom, hop on the boat to Fort Wilderness, and then take one of their internal buses over to the Tri-Circle-D Ranch area where the horses hang out. It’s doable, but it’s definitely a bit of an adventure before your actual adventure!
If you have a car with you, driving over is going to be hands-down the easiest option. Parking at Fort Wilderness is free for resort guests with a reservation, and you can even grab a quick breakfast at Trail's End Restaurant. They’ve got hearty breakfast options that are perfect before hitting the trail.
Another great option is using a rideshare like Uber or Lyft. Or, if you want to sprinkle a little extra pixie dust on your morning, you could book a
Minnie Van through the Lyft app! They’re driven by Disney Cast Members, they come with car seats if you need them, and honestly, they’re just super fun.
I’m so excited for you! It’s going to be such a memorable morning. If you have any other questions or need a little extra Disney tips and planning pixie dust,
I’m always here, ready to help you lasso those magical plans!See ya real soon,
Emille
