We are staying April 16-19th with our 6 year old daughter. Several parks have EMH and I am wondering if its worth attending for the extra evening hours? Can we really accomplish anything from 12-3 am? When do they start to thin out? Thanks!

    Hi Kristin,

Unless your six year old is a serious night owl, I would avoid the Extra Magic Hours in the evening.  This is just my opinion, but I find the evening hours to be fairly crowded.  Sometimes my older children and I will stay in the park while my husband takes the little one back to the hotel, but usually I find we're so worn out by the end of the day that the extra magic hours aren't worth it.

On the flip side, I am a HUGE fan of the morning extra magic hour.  I find that we are able to get a lot done in that one hour.  Later in the morning, when the parks start to get crowded, we have a late breakfast/early lunch and head off to our resort for a swim or head to a different park.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
