We're staying in AofA in Sep & have reg. dining plan now. I've heard qs may be offered free for that time. I have 4 kids (7,5,3,2) & I'm good at packing snacks and lunches. I want to do Chef Mickey's, CRT, T-REX also. worth doing dining plan?

Hello Elizabeth!  Thanks for asking me a question here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  I'm guessing you know that my family and I love the Disney Dining Plan.

We typically purchase the standard dining plan that consists of 1 Snack, 1 Quick Service Credit and 1 Table Service Credit per night stayed at a Walt Disney World Resort.  It works out really well for our family because we enjoy dining at Table Service Restaurants each day on our vacation.  Before we got started on the Disney Dining Plan, I also packed snacks and lunch type foods for us to eat to keep costs down.  With the Disney Dining Plan, I don't have to do that anymore.  It is so much food we stay full.  Now, I may buy my daughter and extra popcorn or something like that out of pocket but only because she is a muncher.  I highly recommend giving the Standard Disney Dining Plan a try, especially because of the sit down meals you are wanting to dine at.  The meals can be expensive and on the plan, everything is prepaid for.  If you want to order the most expensive entree on the menu, go ahead!  We order meals we typically would not if we were paying for it out of pocket which ultimately adds to our overall vacation experience.

If the Free Dining Promotion becomes available during your vacation and your trip meets the specifications, you can call and add it to your vacation package then.  If your trip only qualifies for the Quick Service Dining Plan, you can upgrade your package by paying the difference.  On the Disney Dining Plan, kids 3 and under eat for free.  So that works out really well for your family considering you have 2 children within that age range.

Give yourself a break from packing extra food and try the Standard Disney Dining Plan.  I think you and your family will enjoy it!  If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
