Staying at AOA 12/22-12/29 but would like to visit other resorts to see how they decorate for the holidays. Trying to do on a down day ( no park tickets) but not sure how. Any suggestions? Thanks for all your help, you guys are terrific!

    Hi, Sheila!

OK, don't laugh but it is June and I am already planning for the holidays; It is truly my favorite time of the year!  There is nothing like WDW during the holiday season so you are in for a real treat.

For a wonderful tour of the resorts, start with a bus ride to the Magic Kingdom.   Hop on the Resort Monorail which makes stops at 3 amazing Deluxe Resorts.   Start at the Contemporary, then to the Polynesian, and finally my favorite:  the Grand Floridian.  The Grand Floridian has a huge tree in its lobby and a life size Gingerbread House that you simply must see!   Take plenty of time to explore each resort as they each are so special.

Once you get back to the Magic Kingdom, hop on a boat to Wilderness Lodge (my SECOND favorite holiday resort!)  The Christmas Tree here is so amazing, and a great place to snap some great family photos.

Along the way of your resort tour, feel free to stop at any of their Quick Service dining locations for a bite to eat.   If you want to make a fun day of it, here are some buffet/table service dining suggestions:

-Chef Mickey's for breakfast or dinner (Contemporary)
    -1900 Park Fare (Grand Floridian)
-Whispering Canyon Café (Wilderness Lodge - I prefer dinner!)

Have a great time spreading holiday cheer and have a VERY Merry Christmas!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
