We will be staying at AoA in September. I have booked a reservation at Chef Mickey's for breakfast. What is the best way to get there and how much time should I plan for travel? Thank you for your help!

Howdy, Kim! Thanks for taking the time to stop by planDisney for help on your upcoming Disney getaway!

Disney's Art of Animation Resort is definitely on my top resort list. It's so close to the Skyliner, which gives you a fun way to get to Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.

You are also going to love Chef Mickey’s. It's such a fun way to start the day. Since you’ll be staying at Art of Animation the best way to get to Disney’s Contemporary Resort for breakfast is by using the bus transportation to Magic Kingdom. Once you’re dropped off at Magic Kingdom, you can either take a short 5–10 minute walk over to the Contemporary or hop on the Resort Monorail for one quick stop. Both are great options, but I usually recommend walking, as it’s direct, quick, and you’ll be there before you know it.

For timing, I’d give yourself at least 60–75 minutes from the moment you head to the bus stop at Art of Animation. This covers waiting for the bus, travel time, and the short walk or monorail ride. If your reservation is very early in the morning and you’re worried about timing, you could always use a rideshare like Uber or Lyft, which will take you directly to the Contemporary in about 20 minutes.

Once you’re there, you’ll have plenty of time to check in, snap a few photos, and enjoy the classic character dining experience with Mickey and friends. It’s a great mix of delicious food and Disney magic!

Kim, have a wonderful morning with Mickey! Please come back by and visit with us again soon.

    Toodles,
