Staying @ AOA in Oct. Dinner @ Flying Fish @ 5:35. Do we realistically have time to get to Fantasmic in time for the 8pm showing?

    Hi Tabitha,

The Flying Fish is a great signature dining choice. My family has had a number of memorable meals there over the years, and I hope you have the same experience.

I always like to allow at least an hour and a half for a Disney fine dining meal. I think it's important to relax and enjoy the ambiance, the conversation and the food. We like to linger over our dessert and coffee, too. Even at my family's pace, you probably will be finished with your meal no later than 7:15.

The boat ride from the Boardwalk resort to Hollywood Studios takes about 15 minutes if you don't have to wait for the boat to arrive. You also can walk to Hollywood Studios in about 20 minutes. That's usually the option my family chooses. The pathway is wide and lighted, and we prefer the walk, especially after a big meal.

Since Fantasmic! is near the front of Hollywood Studios, I think you realistically can reach the amphitheatre in time for the 8 p.m. show. The only issue may be whether seating is still available. As you probably know, guests often start lining up more than an hour before the show to secure the best seats.

Luckily, October is a lower crowd month, so the chances that Fantasmic! will be full are lower as well.

Buttom line, I think you realistically can make it work. I would encourage you not to rush so much that you can't savor your Flying Fish dinner or that you arrive out of breath for Fantasmic! (It is breathtaking, of course.)

I suggesting arriving at Flying Fish at least 15 minutes before your reservation time. At that point in the evening, the chances are pretty good that you can be seated a bit earlier. That would give you a little more breathing room in the schedule.

I hope that helps and that you have a wonderful evening and that it all works out as you want it to. Please don't hesitate to visit the Disney Parks Moms Panel again if we can offer any more assistance. Enjoy!
