We are staying at AOA and I need advice on a great kid-friendly restaurant for dinner at a different property resort. The skyliner will be partially closed while we are there, so if you can also share transportation details, that would be great!

Hiya, Aly! Thanks for dropping by planDisney with your question.

I love to check out different restaurants at surrounding Disney Resorts Collection hotels when we aren't visiting a park, so I appreciate this question! Aly, before you make a decision, I first recommend checking out the online menus to make sure that all of the Mouseketeers in your party will be able to find a delectable choice. On each restaurant's home page, under the description, you'll find a link to "View Menu."

Now, here are a few recommendations that have been a hit with my family!

    - Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. From Disney's Art of Animation Resort you can take the bus to Magic Kingdom Park and then hop aboard a water taxi to this resort. Whispering Canyon Cafe offers "all-you-care-to-enjoy" skillets with a fun atmosphere and gorgeous views of the lobby at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. If you choose this location, make sure to stop by the Front Desk and ask about a scavenger hunt to complete before returning to your resort!

    - Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort. From Disney's Art of Animation Resort you can take the bus to Magic Kingdom Park and then walk to Disney's Contemporary Resort or use Monorail transportation. Chef Mickey's has great views of the inside of Disney's Contemporary Resort and of course, the STARS of the show are the characters in the chef attire! I can never get enough of characters on parade while I'm eating!

-'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. From Disney's Art of Animation Resort you can take the bus to MagicKingdom Park and then useMonorail transportation. You'll find family style service at this restaurant with famous bread pudding to finish your meal. At Disney's Polynesian Village Resort you can also stop at Pineapple Lanai for a DOLE Whip before heading back to your resort.

    - T-REX at Disney Springs. From Disney's Art of Animal Resort you'll have bus transportation to and from Disney Springs. This restaurant turns the clock back to prehistoric times and my school-age Mouseketeers LOVE the inside of this property! If you choose T-REX for dinner, skip dessert and stop by Sprinkles Cupcake ATM before returning to your resort. My kids LOVE having a cupcake pop out of the dispenser!

Aly, whether you find yourself dining at one of the restaurants above or another location on property, I hope your trip is delicious in every sense of the word. Please come on back to planDisney with any other questions you might have.
