We will be staying at AOA on our first WDW vacation next week.. we will be driving from Texas, ... which is most time saving when moving between AOA and the parks, by our private vehicle or bus transportation ?

    Hi Denise!

Your trip is literally around the corner! Are you too excited to sleep yet?

Being from Georgia, I always drive down in my minnie van when I travel with my family. You'll find some Guests who will tell you that traveling by bus is the best way to go and others that traveling by car is the best way.

Its great that Disney offers bus transportation on property and its nice to sit back, relax and let someone else do the driving. I love that the buses drop you off very near the entrances to the theme parks and you don't have to park and then take a tram to the entrance which makes it very convenient. Its also great that you don't have to wait for a tram at the end of the evening to get back to your car.

The flip side is you sometimes have to wait a bit for the buses too. That is especially true when everyone is trying to get to the parks at opening and as the parks are closing. If you drive and get to the parks early enough, you can walk to the entrance and save yourself a tram ride.  The only exception is at the Magic Kingdom. From the parking lot you have 2 options to get to the Magic Kingdom, the Monorail or the Ferry Boat. On the days you visit the Magic Kingdom, you may want to travel by bus.

There may be times its better to travel by car and others better by bus. You may also want to factor in how close your room is to the bus stop and what you'll have to take with you. Strollers have to be folded on buses and trams but if you're close enough to the front of the park, you could walk and avoid folding the stroller. Strollers do not have to be folded on the Monorails or Ferry Boat to the Magic Kingdom. If you are trying to get to a park at a certain time for a dining reservation, you may want to drive.

Please feel free to visit again with any other questions. We'll be hEAR for you up until you embark on your pixie dusted trail!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison
