We are staying at AoA in December. On our arrival day, we have a 6:30pm res at Mickey's Backyard BBQ. What would be the best way to get there? Same question for a 7:35am breakfast at Chef Mickey's and a 8:00am breakfast at Tusker House on different days.

    Hi Amy!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel!

The best way to get to Mickey's Backyard BBQ is to take a bus to the Magic Kingdom from the Art of Animation.  Then when you get there, before going into the actual park, head down to the boat launch and catch a boat to Fort Wilderness.   I would plan on the whole trip taking an hour which includes an average amount of time for waiting for the bus and the boat in the first place.

To get to Chef Mickey's, I suggest taking a taxi from the Art of Animation to the Contemporary Resort.  However, you could ask a Cast Member at the front desk of your hotel if he or she thinks an early morning bus to the Magic Kingdom would be available.  If you could get a bus at 7 am, then you could take it to the Magic Kingdom and then walk about 10 minutes to the Contemporary Resort and Chef Mickey's.  However, the most straight forward solution for an early morning breakfast reservation is to take a taxi.

For Tusker House, definitely take Disney transportation!  The Animal Kingdom parking lot doesn't always open early, meaning that if you take any other mode of transportation you might be "trapped" out in the parking lot until just before the theme park opens.  Taking a Disney bus is definitely the way to go for this one!

I hope this helps!  You picked some great places to dine.  Please write back if you have any more questions!
