Welcome to planDisney, Brittany!
There is nothing more exciting than putting together all of those pixie-dusted plans for a visit to
Walt Disney World. A ten night trip? Ten times better!
Brittany, you have asked a great question about paying the current
balance on your Walt Disney World Resort folio--especially because your stay is longer than five days. According to that link, the credit card you have on file will be charged your current balance every fifth day as well as after checkout.
Like Fairy Godmother's gifts to Cinderella, those charges could occur as early as the stroke of midnight. So, when I want to use cash or gift cards to pay down that balance prior to my credit card being charged, I stop by the front desk on day 4 and have them apply those funds to my account. As long as there are charges on that account, you will be able to use your gift cards to pay down your balance.
When touring WDW, we love the convenience of using our
MagicBand+ for everything from park entry to charging purchases to our room account. No worries about dropping a gift card, carrying cash, or even bringing a bulky wallet. We have everything we need right there on our wrists. Back at the room, I keep cash and gift cards in the in-room safe. When everyone else heads to the pool for an afternoon swim or is getting ready for a fabulous dinner at a favorite restaurant, I'll take care of our current balance in just a few minutes, then join the group. Easy peasy!
Don't forget that there are some membership clubs or retailer credit cards that offer discounts on purchases--including the purchase of
Disney Gift Cards! It's a great way to stretch those vacation dollars a little bit further.
Brittany, as you plan your epic visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth, be sure to send additional questions our way. We love to help!
