We will be staying at Animal Kingdom Resort from 5/14 - 5/23/10. Have 2 children ages 8 and 11. Is there anything special we should know? Things not to miss there at the resort? Things to avoid? etc.

Hi Suzanne! Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge provides excellent programs, such as animal identification, Ostrich egg show and tell, night vision goggles, and African storytelling around the fire pit. Both your children will enjoy family pool time, pin trading with "King Pin" and observing the animals in the Savanna. Boma - Flavors of Africa is a family buffet-style dining experience that offers delicious food choices for all ages.  You will receive a Daily Activities Sheet upon your arrival to the resort. Be certain to review it with your family and take note of days and times of events that you want to attend. The only thing that you should try to avoid - not spending enough time at the resort. It is easy to plan for the parks and meals and forget that your resort has so much to offer. Make time during your vacation to enjoy your resort to the fullest, especially at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, because there are so many wonderful things to do. Have a Magical Vacation!
