Welcome to planDisney, Richard!
It’s so nice to meet you, and excellent question! My family and I have done something similar, so I am happy to share our experience with you.
It is normal for plans to change during your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. All you’ll need to do is modify your existing
theme park reservations to match your new plans. This past March, I had reservations to open Magic Kingdom on our last park day. The night before, my dad suggested we head back to EPCOT for one more ride on
Guardians of the Galaxy. So of course, we made the switch. I just used the
My Disney Experience Mobile App to
modify our existing reservation to match our new plans. We did, in fact, park hop over to Magic Kingdom later that day, though.
On a different occasion, we noticed that the weather was not looking good for the next day. It was projected to storm all day, and while even a rainy day at Disney is better than a day anywhere else, we didn’t feel like spending the day dodging the rain. So the evening before, we modified our reservation to a different day. Just like you, we had more resort days than ticket days, so we just opted for a rainy day at our
resort. Again, you’ll want to make any modifications to your reservation sooner rather than later. It will help make your planning easier.
Richard, I hope this helps ease your worries so that you can go about enjoying your time at Walt Disney World Resort. If you haven’t already, you may want to purchase
Memory Maker so that you can preserve these new memories with photos that will last a lifetime! Have the best visit yet, and if there’s anything else we can help with, you know where to find us.
Have a great visit,
Shantel
