We're staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge soon; 2x teenagers +2x adults in a double queen bedded savanbah view room....what's in the room to keep chilled water bottles and snacks for evenings in our hotel, especially when the restaurants close early?

Jambo, Susan! Welcome back to planDisney!

It’s great to see you’ve come to us with another question, Susan. I love to see it! Your visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth is approaching quickly, so let’s hop right to it!

Let me start by saying that in my opinion, you’ve made a great choice with your resort! There are many wonderful resorts and room categories across the Disney Resorts Collection, but few are as unique as the Savanna view rooms at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Waking up and seeing giraffes, zebras, among several other animals, is just such a special experience!

To answer your question, Susan, the Savanna view rooms with two queen beds are equipped with a beverage cooler. You will be able to store beverages and snacks in there. When we stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge, we used the beverage cooler to store our water bottles that we brought into the parks each morning. We also used it to store snacks and leftovers. It should suit your purposes just fine!

If I may make a suggestion, I highly recommend trying the Zebra Domes. These are made with chocolate mousse, Amarula Cream Liquor, white chocolate drizzle, chocolate stripes and chocolate shavings. It’s more than the sum of its parts, and they’re absolutely delicious. They come in a pack of four, making them perfect to share with your family! You can find them at The Mara, which is the quick-service restaurant at the resort. You can also find them at the dessert station at Boma, which is a buffet restaurant at the resort. At Boma, you can have one or as many as you like!

Another of my favorite restaurants on all of Walt Disney World Resort property is Sanaa, which is located over at Kidani Village just next door to Jambo House. The menu features African and Indian flavors, and it features the hugely popular Indian-style Bread Service which comes with five types of bread and nine accompaniments, such as Cucumber Raita, Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, Mango Chutney, and many more. Plus, the restaurant has massive windows overlooking Sunset Savanna at the resort. Dinner and a show!

I hope this answers your question, Susan! If you have any other questions as you continue to plan your magical visit, please don’t hesitate to come back and see us here at planDisney. We’re always happy to help!

    Kwaheri!
