When staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge can you smell the animals? How many pools at this resort?

Hi, Julie! We love that you keep coming back to see us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Having just returned from the lovely Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge I can say with confidence that there were no offensive smells, and I had giraffe friends right outside of my balcony! You will just love the grand lobby, beautiful architecture and authentic cultural experiences! As for pools, there are two: the Uzima pool at the main Jambo House, and the Samwati Spring pool in the Kidani Village area, which is a 5 minute walk away. If you plan on walking from Kidani Village to Jambo House or vice-versa, it is about a 5-10 minute walk, depending on your speed. I MAY have accidentally gotten off at the wrong bus stop once, so I MIGHT know from experience!

If you are looking for a place to dine at your Disney Resort hotel, I recommend breakfast at Boma - Flavors of Africa! It had authentic African flavors while still offering our Disney favorites like Mickey Waffles!

If you plan on visiting Pandora - The World of Avatar, staying at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge gets you as close as it gets to those Banshees on the Avatar Flight of Passage expedition!

    Have a “wild” time!
