We're going to be staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge in one of the Delux savanna view rooms. When is the best time of day to view the animals up close from our room?

Hello Karen! So glad to have you visit planDisney! You are getting so very close to your magical vacation! I’m excited for you!

I had the pleasure of staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge for my first time in early March! I arrived mid-morning, walked into my room and went right for the balcony! I opened the door to an African safari! I enjoyed each morning on the balcony as the animals were quite active during that time each day!

While I’m no stranger to outdoors and wildlife, I did find the animal guide (provided in the room) to be very helpful in identifying what I was seeing! The animals were beautiful. The giraffes were by far my favorite. They stand so tall that I felt eye-to-eye with them from my balcony. I wasn’t in my room during the midday, because I was in the parks (of course), but I have heard that the animals are less active during the heat of the day. When I returned from Magic Kingdom Park in the late afternoon the animals were once again roaming their home right next to my balcony! This is such an amazing experience that Animal Kingdom Lodge provides for Guests! I know you will enjoy it!
