We will be staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge this November and wondering if we would have access to the pool (and thus would need shower access too) on the day of check out. Our flight isnt until 7pm and hoping to use that last day to explore/ use the pool.

Why hello out there Natricia, I'd like to wish you a warm welcome to planDisney!

My husband and I loved staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge so much, we simply couldn't get enough of it when it was finally time to check out! We actually found ourselves in a similar situation and asked the Cast Members at the Front Desk for their advice as far as enjoying the resort amenities as much as possible before heading home.

You'll be happy to hear that spending our day by the pool was something that they actively recommended to us, which ended up being an unexpected highlight of our stay. After leaving our luggage in the capable hands of the Bell Services team, we were free to head over to the Uzima Springs Pool located adjacent to Jambo House or the Samawati Springs Pool which we found to be a bit more of a tranquil experience where we'd be able to relax. As Disney Vacation Club Members, we were staying over at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village where we were able to take advantage of the complimentary lockers as well as accessible shower and changing facilities that were just adjacent to the Survival of the Fittest Fitness Center. This truly allowed us to be able to feel refreshed and ready to depart after a day of really enjoying everything Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge had to offer; we even had a chance for an unexpected okapi sighting just behind the Maji Pool Bar that we hadn't noticed during our stay! (Offerings are always subject to change without prior notice, so it's definitely worth confirming when you check in just in case anything has gone under refurbishment or is temporarily unavailable.)

On our last visit this year we were just in time to experience some of the fantastic and flavorful food offerings that had been recently updated, so I recommend keeping a close eye on the Disney Eats Foodie Guide to see if there are any new treats to try ahead of your stay. Feel free to come back to planDisney for any more tips and tricks ahead of your animal adventures, and be sure to pick up some Zebra Domes while you're there!

Here's to making a splash before it's time to dash!
