    We're staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge in May. We've got the Disney Dining Plan which covers myself, my partner and our 12 year old daughter, but not our 2 year old son. What happens when we dine using the plan? Do we pay for his meals separately?

    Hi, Alison!  Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

    Your magical vacation is just a few short weeks away!  I am sure you and your family are getting excited about all that the Walt Disney World Resort has to offer, including the delicious meals you will be able to enjoy with the purchase of your Disney Dining Plan.

    There is no need to purchase a dining plan for little Mouseketeers under 3 years of age.  Your son is welcome to eat from the plates of the rest of your family.  If you wish to purchase an additional meal for your son, you may certainly do so.  When you purchase your meals, you will redeem a Disney Dining Plan entitlement for each of the other family members and pay for the food that you order for your little guy at that time.

    All-you-care-to-enjoy buffets and family-style restaurants are a great option for families with little ones who are not yet old enough to require their own Disney Dining Plan.  Some of these restaurants even have the added bonus of being a character dining experience.  Chef Mickey's and the Garden Grill Restaurant are two of my family's personal favorites.

    Since you're staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, you will have several great dining options conveniently located at your resort hotel.  Sanaa tends to be a favorite among guests for both its delicious food and incredible savanna views.  Be sure to try the Indian-style bread service!
