We will be staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge at the end of January 2012. My husband and I would like to do something just the two of us and are looking at the Wanyama Safari Tour and dinner. Is this worth the price?? Thanks!

    Hi Ronni,

My family just stayed at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge in March and we wish we would have had time to include the Wanyama Safari in our travel plans.  I have seen television shows describing this experience and have heard guests rave about the opportunity to get so close to the animals at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  As part of this experience, you'll have the chance to ride in a small, 12 passenger van as you explore the resort's savannas.  Unlike the Kilimanjaro Safari experience, Wanyama Safari is slower paced and offers the chance to ask questions of an animal specialist.  It also affords unparalleled opportunities to take up-close photos of the wildlife.  This is a must-do experience for photography buffs or animal lovers.

Of course, you must not forget the amazing meal that awaits you at Jiko after your safari.  Between dinner at this romantic restaurant and the extraordinary chance to experience the animals at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, I would definitely say the Wanyama Safari is worth the cost of the experience.

Because this experience is limited to a small number of guests, do make your arrangements to participate in advance.  Have fun!
