Hello, We are staying at animal Kingdom in June. We have two rooms on a reservation. We have requested connecting rooms. Should I call the resort the day we leave to make sure they accommodate?

    Hi Kristi,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. Your June visit to Walt Disney World is right around the corner, and I’m so excited for you!

I’m so glad to read that you’ve already added your request for connecting rooms to your reservation, and I would do as you suggest and call the resort the morning of your check-in date to reiterate the request. Please remember that these requests cannot be guaranteed, but the room assigners will do their best to make it happen for you. On a recent visit, I requested connecting rooms with my parents, and while the room assigners were not able to accommodate connecting rooms, we did get adjacent rooms. It worked out just fine and my kids loved going back and forth between the rooms for some Grandma and Grandpa time.

Enjoy your stay at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Kristi. One thing I love about this resort is that there are a lot of fun daily activities available, so be sure to check in with your front desk staff about activities and tours. There are also fabulous snacks to be found – if you visit The Mara, be sure to look for Zebra Domes, which are just delicious!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
