Staying at All-star resort (no package) first night then switching to Coronado (with package) for remainder of trip. Can I get my tickets at All-star so i can go to park while Coronado prepares my room. If not, can I take a cab there with an 8 month baby?

    Bonjour Alexsandra,
To the best of my knowledge, you will need to check in at Coronado Springs in order to get your package tickets.  However, Disney makes changing resorts very simple.

After you check out of the All Star, you can bring your luggage to the Concierge desk and ask them to transfer your luggage to Coronado Springs Resort (there is no charge for this).  Make sure to keep with you all the items you will need for your day at the theme parks.  Then you can either take a cab or the Disney transportation (more on these options in a minute) to Coronado Springs to check in.  At check in, you will receive your room assignment and keys (which are also your park passes).  You can then continue on to your day at the parks.  The Concierge desk will deliver your luggage directly to your room when the room is ready (usually sometime late afternoon).  When you get back from your day, your luggage will be in your room!

With a baby, my recommendation would be to take a cab to the Coronado Springs resort.  The All Star resorts are very close, so it should not be too expensive.  Ask at the Concierge desk and they will help call a cab (make sure to inquire if the cab company can provide a baby car seat).  It is also possible to make the trip using only Disney transportation, but it will take time.  Take a bus to any theme park (Animal Kingdom is closest to both resorts) and then get on the bus going back to Coronado Springs Resort.  Have a magical family time together!
