hi we are staying at akl and i was wondering if my kids get to pet the aniamals at or resort or at any of the other parks?they are both girls ages 5 and 6....also is it extra to use night vision goggles?and how much?thank you all so much for being here,,,

    Hi Angela!

You're going to have a great time at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort. While there are many species of wildlife right on site to observe in their "natural habitat," there are no encounter experiences within the resort property itself.

When you visit Animal Kingdom Park, be sure to take the Wildlife Express Train up to Rafiki's Planet Watch. In the Affection Section and Conservation Station areas you'll find plenty of hands-on encounters with friendly, domesticated animals for your children to enjoy!

Night Vision goggles can be used at the Uzima savannah overlook between 8pm-11pm nightly. Cast Members will be on hand at that location with the goggles for your use. If you are lucky enough to have a savannah view room during your stay, you may also sneak a peek of the animals out on the savannah late at night since the area is dimly lit by artificial moonlight every night! More Disney magic ... of course!

Thanks for your question Angela! Please visit me again if i can assist you further with your vacation plans and questions.

Wishing you a simply Magical time at Walt Disney World!
