Hi, we're staying at the AKL for 2 wks in aug. When we check out is there anywhere to store our luggage and do they have a shower room as we don't fly home till evening, if not can we keep our room for a little longer to allow us to shower .

Hi Nigel:

After checkout, you can store your bags with bell services at the Resort while you enjoy your day. I don't know of any place to shower after check out. It's theoretically possible to arrange for late checkout at a Disney Resort, but it is up to the discretion of the Resort management based on occupancy. I would speak with the front desk at check in and request a late check out for our check out day. Due to the popularity of Disney Resorts, including the Animal Kingdom Lodge, late check out requests are hard to grant. But if they will try to help you if they can.
