Hi Paula,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another question! I’ve stayed in a standard view room at both
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge (Jambo House) and
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village and I’ve found that these rooms are actually some of the best in terms of location to all of the Lodge’s amenities, especially at Jambo House (which is where I assume you’re staying during your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort).
The most centrally located rooms for the pool, bus transportation and the main lobby’s restaurants and shops would definitely be those located along Giraffe Trail. However, the hidden gems of the Standard View rooms are the ones found in Ostrich Trail, on the 4th floor (rooms 4108, 4110 and 4112) and 3rd floor (rooms 3108, 3110 and 3112). These rooms have a view of the “working” area that leads to the Sunset Savanna.
For more detailed information (and pictures!) of the view from almost every Walt Disney World Resort hotel room, check out www.touringplans.com. Although some of the website’s features are subscription-based, the Room Finder sections are largely available without a subscription. The website also offers you a way to fax your Resort a room request in order to increase your chances of getting the room you’d like.
Have fun planning your trip and please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
