Hi moms, staying at AKL in a standard room. Have read on here that 5110-5112, 4110-4112 and 3110-3112 are hidden gems of standard rooms. I want to confirm that these are actually standard view and can I request two of these rooms and are they adjoining?

Hi Lizzie! I can understand why you want to check on the room definition at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. It can be so much fun waking up in the morning and sitting on your balcony to observe the many animals in the savannahs.

I have done quite a bit of research  about rooms in this resort. The numbers you have given me are located in the Ostrich Trail section. The even numbered rooms will overlook the Savannah with the odd numbered rooms overlooking the parking lot and valet areas. The important thing to realize is that all Savannah rooms are not considered part of the standard room pricing. Some of the rooms will be adjoining and connecting and that is a request you can make at the time of your reservation.

There is also a chance you were thinking about the Animal Kingdom Villa rooms. There are some "value" villas that fit your room numbers but they will absolutely not take any requests for Savannah views. It would be a chance for your view.

I hope this helps and you will enjoy your upcoming Disney vacation. If you do not have a Savannah view please remember there are many common areas in the resort where you can enjoy watching the many animals. There will also be animal experts and cast members from Africa to answer questions and share their knowledge with you.
