We are staying at AKL pool view.I'm still not sure which room is best as far as pool view.I saw the map but still not sure. Are there sites with details of best room numbers and what floor ?Just concerned about long walk from food to room and bus for mom.

    Hi Donna,

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is such a beautiful resort.  The animals are amazing, and the decor and richness of the theme throughout the resort are fabulous.

A view of Uzima Pool will put you close to dining and bus transportation at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, as Uzima Pool is close to the lobby.  Rather than ask for a specific room number, it is better to describe your request.  This way, if the exact room number is not available, the cast member assigning your room will know what you are looking for.  I suggest that you request a room near to an elevator.  This would minimize the walking to and from your room no matter which floor you are on. As to a request for a floor, since you will likely need to take an elevator, the floor number probably does not matter so much for accessibility.  It might make a difference for noise, in that the higher levels tend to be quieter as they are further away from the pool.  Finally, request a room as close as possible to the lobby, which will put you near to dining and Disney bus transportation.

You can make these requests at the time you make your reservation.  Then, call Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge directly at 407-938-3000 about a week before you check in to be sure they have the requests on record.  While Disney will do their best to accommodate requests, they are requests and as such are not guaranteed.  Finally, when you check in, the cast member will show you where your room is on a map of the resort.  If you would like a different room, sometimes if you are willing to wait a little longer for your room to be ready, a room that meets more of your requests may become available.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you Donna!  Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
