We are staying at AKL in October and have a day planned to stay and enjoy the resort. What types of activities would my 7 year old and 15 month old enjoy, both together and apart? Particularly interested in the animal and pool activities. Thanks Moms!

    Hi Kim!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

The Animal Kingdom Lodge offers a lot of services and amenities for guests there.  The pool is a great pool for families and one of the better ones on property in my opinion.  Of course, there are all the animals that can be seen around the resort.  I suggest picking up a guide when you first check-in if there isn't one all ready in your check-in package that lists all of the activities.  Generally, there are story tellers throughout the afternoon and evening, marshmallow roasting, small arts and crafts, viewing of the animals at night via night vision goggles, etc.  After the pool, your seven year old will probably enjoy roasting marshmallows and using the night vision goggles the best.

Animal Kingdom Lodge has some great restaurants.  I definitely recommend making both a breakfast and dinner reservation at Boma.  Advance Dining Reservations can be made online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE.  I have a picky eater in my family (my 8 year old) and while there are some exotic foods to try at Boma, he has never had a problem; in fact, he is the one in our family who always insists on going for dinner!

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
