We are staying at AKL in November, and are interested in the safari tour/dinner at Jiko's. Do we need to reserve ahead of time? Also, would the safari be appropriate for our 90 year old Mom? Thanks so much!

    Jambo Carol!

The Wanyama Safari and Dinner is such a" hidden jewel" for Guests staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge or Villas. Guests 8-years and older are invited on a guided hour-and-a-half safari followed by a multi-course dinner at Jiko-The Cooking Place. For Guests 21 and older the dinner even offers wine pairings to compliment the fantastic flavors. The tour is offered daily at 4pm, but Guests are encouraged to arrive at 3:30 for a meet and greet reception with the animal specialist and chef. I recommend making reservations as soon as you can because there are a limited number of spots. To book a reservation or to find out current prices and more, contact Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Itinerary Planning Office at (407) 938-4755. As for if it is appropriate for your 90-year-old mom, I would adhere to the same caution advised on Kilimanjaro Safaris: "For safety, you should be in good health and free from high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this adventure."

Have a wonderful trip and please let me know if there is anything else I may assist you with.

    Magical Wishes,
