We are staying at AKL- Kidani for one night BUT we are driving a pickup truck with a bike carrier on the back. Will the parking spaces in the underground parking garage be large enough?

    Hi Terrie,

Welcome back to planDisney! We're always happy when someone we've helped in the past turns to us for advice again.

You are correct that the main parking at Animal Kingdom Lodge -- Kidani Village is on the ground level, underneath the building. There's direct elevator access to the resort from the garage. I wasn't able to find out the exact dimensions of the parking spaces, but I can tell you from experience that the parking there feels somewhat snug.

I drive a mid-sized SUV and my vehicle fits easily. But, because the parking is under the structure, there are large support columns scattered throughout the spaces, which makes some spots tighter than others. Friends with larger SUVs have been able to park there, so I know it's possible. But it may challenge your parking expertise, and getting out of the truck once you've parked may be a squeeze.

My bigger concern in your case would be whether the bike rack on the back of your truck would extend too far into the access lanes. If you are uncomfortable with the fit or decide your vehicle is too long for the space, there is outdoor parking for oversized vehicles just outside the garage. That's probably the option I'd choose.

I hope that's helpful, Terrie. Once you have your vehicle stowed, I know you'll have a wonderful stay at Kidani Village.

    Enjoy,

    Wilma
