Hello, Angela!
Animal Kingdom Lodge is
very kid-friendly, so much so that we specifically booked a 3-bedroom Grand Villa at Kidani Village this summer for a three-generation birthday celebration, with five kids in tow. You'll love it!
First, the Cast Members are very attuned to the little Guests, so very friendly and helpful, too. Of course, having the animals right there for your own viewing is a treat for Guests of all ages, and even the African-themed restaurants all have kids' menus.
When we were there this past fall, there were twenty-five cultural, animal and culinary activities offered at Jambo House and Kidani Village, only two of which were at an additional cost and three of which were "adult focused." There are complimentary poolside activities throughout the day at both resorts as well as nightly campfires and Movies Under the Stars, too. (Guests of either resort are welcome to enjoy the amenities, pools and entertainment of the other.)
Uzima Pool, at Jambo House, is a lot of fun, with a 67 foot long slide and Quick-Service meals available right next door. Kidani Village's Samawati Springs Pool, with its 128 foot long slide and the adjacent Uwanja Camp ("an animal observation site-themed water playground that includes 3 interactive areas for kids of all ages") is so much fun for everyone, especially the kids, that we spend an entire day there.
At Kidani Village, Community Hall also has many games and activities available. During our stay, there were daily Signature Crafts from 3-6 p.m. for an additional charge.
Again, get ready for an absolutely wonderful stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge; be sure to send me any additional questions you may have as you plan your visit! I'd love to help!
