Hi! We'll be staying at AKL in July for 2 nights. What time is the campfire in summer? Also, what's the best time to eat at Sanaa to see the animals? Is feeding time different in summer? I know this is a good time to see animals. Thanks

    Jambo, Luciano!

Welcome back to planDisney and thanks so much for stopping by with your Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. I'm so excited to hear that you'll be staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge this summer! The exotic ambiance of the lobby and lush grounds make it one of my favorite Deluxe Disney Resort hotels. As a Guest of this Resort hotel, you may even have the opportunity to view African animals from the comfort of your room's balcony - how incredible is that!?

Luciano, I recently enjoyed an amazing stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, and I snapped a photo of the Recreation Activities calendar in the lobby when I checked in. (This is a great way to stay up-to-date on what's happening at your Disney Resort hotel during your stay!) Currently, campfire activities at Jambo House are taking place at the Arusha Savanna Overlook from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. every night. (The campfires at Kidani Village take place at the Pembe Savanna Overlook at the same time each evening.) I've found that these times stay pretty consistent throughout the year, but I encourage you to check out the Recreation Activities calendar when you arrive so you don't miss out on the magic! Please note that campfire activities may be canceled due to inclement weather.

It's great to hear that you're considering a meal at Sanaa! This fan-favorite East African-inspired restaurant overlooks the beautiful Sunset Savanna at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village. Luciano, in my experience, animals on the savannas at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge are most active during the early morning and late evening hours. For this reason, I recommend enjoying a quick-service Kuamsha Breakfast as soon as the restaurant opens at 7:30 a.m. (subject to change)! No reservations are required for this experience and tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Luciano, if you'd prefer to experience Sanaa during dinnertime, I encourage you to make a reservation for later in the evening. If possible, try to get a reservation during dusk so that you can enjoy the sun setting over the Sunset Savanna! Guests of Disney Resort hotels can make dining reservations for the length of their stays (for stays up to 10 days) beginning 60 days before their arrival! Since Sanaa is a popular establishment, I recommend being prepared to make your dining reservations the day they become available.

I hope that you've found this information helpful, Luciano. I'm wishing you a wild stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge! If you have any more planning questions, please stop back by planDisney again anytime. We're here to help you make the most of your stay at The Most Magical Place on Earth!
