We are staying in AKL Jan 2-7. What is the closest golf course to his hotel? Will the courses be really crowded at this time of year? Can you use the buses to get to golf courses?

Hi Cari!  The Animal Kingdom Lodge resort is about equal distance to all the golf courses. You have the Palm and the Magnolia courses which are two of the original wonderful and challenging ones on property. They are located near the Polynesian and Grand Floridian resorts and by car would take about 20 minutes.

You also have the Osprey Ridge and Lake Buena Vista courses which are located closer to the Downtown Disney area. By car this would take about 18 minutes. If you are staying in a Disney resort property which you are then you can take a complimentary taxi to reach the course of your choice. Request the ride through the resort valet or bell services desk and make sure you give them time to call for the taxi and process the request. Return complimentary taxi service is also offered once you are done.

January can be a cooler month and therefore not one that will find crowds on the golf courses. That doesn't mean you won't find an outing or other guests who want to get in a round versus a day in the parks.  Making reservations is always the best idea so you won't be disappointed. If you are golfing alone then you can be matched with other guests. My husband has met some wonderful and interesting people by playing with others for a round of golf.
